2012 Chrysler line-up looks promising for the car maker. Some of its best offerings, including the much talked about SRT8 line, are in line for 2012.
2012 Model Line
The Auburn Hills car maker is looking in great shape for 2012. The sleek line of the vehicles that the company is offering is already making waves in the auto fraternity. If we go back to few rumours and claims that surfaced couple of years ago, those indicated that Chrysler would turn out to be one of the leading car makers in the world by 2012. Now, we need to wait and see whether that works out for the company or not, but before we do that let us look at the 2012 Chrylser lineup and zero in what the American car maker has in the offering.
- 300 Sedan
The new 2012 corporate sedan is marketed in five well appointed variants namely base, Limited, S V6, C, and S V8. The first three variants get a potent 3.6liter V6 engine under their hoods, mated to a standard 5 speed automatic gearbox. An eight speed automatic transmission system is optional. The engine generates 292 hp @ 6350 rpm and 260 ft-lbs of torque @ 4800 rpm. The vehicle can accelerate from 0-60mph in 7.1 seconds. Within city limits, they offer 18mpg on highways; these figures can go up to 27mpg.
The higher C and V8 are powered by a bigger 5.7liter V8 power plant, which churns out a respectable 363 hp @ 5200 rpm and 394 ft-lbs of torque @ 4200 rpm. On city roads, they offer 16mpg and on highways they offer 25mpg.
- 300 SRT8
The performance edition SRT8 gets a massive 6.3liter V8 Hemi power-plant under its hood, which generates 465 hp @ 6000 rpm and 465 ft-lbs. of torque @ 4200 rpm. Being a vehicle designed for performance, SRT8 accelerates much faster than the regular 300 sedans. The vehicle can sprint from 0-60mph in flat 4.7seconds. On city roads, the vehicle offers 14mpg and on highways it can go up to 23mpg, which is quite impressive for a sedan of this class.
- 200 Sedan
Chrysler 200, the vehicle that replaced Sebring, is doing great in the auto market even when we know that it more or less resembles the outgoing Sebring. The sedan version is marketed in four variants namely LX, Touring, Limited and S. Apart from S trim, all the variants come equipped with a 2.4liter 4 cylinder engine, coupled to a four speed automatic transmission system. The engine churns out 173 hp @ 6000 rpm and 166 ft-lbs. of torque @ 4400 rpm. On city roads, the vehicle offers 21mpg and on highways it can yield up to 30mpg. The top of the line S trim comes with a standard 3.6liter V6 engine, which generates 283 hp @ 6400 rpm and 260 ft-lbs. of torque @ 4400 rpm. The engine is coupled to a six speed automatic gearbox. The vehicle can accelerate from 0-60mph in just 6.9seconds. It offers 19mpg on city roads and 29mpg on highways.
